This is a tiny program that allows the user to monitor the SMART attributes of a particular hard disk drive. SMART ( Self-Monitoring Analysis & Reporting Technology ) is an interface between a computer's BIOS (basic input/output system) and the computer hard disk. It is a feature of the Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics (EIDE) technology that controls access to the hard drive. If S.M.A.R.T is enabled when a computer is set up, the BIOS can receive analytical information from the hard drive and determine whether to send the user a warning message about possible future failure of the hard drive. SMART monitors elements of possible long term drive failure, such as 'Spin Up Time', the number of start/stops, the number of hours powered on and the temperature. DiskCheckup also displays some additional drive information, such as the drive serial number, model number, the number of cylinders, tracks, the sectors per track.

AutoDeFrag is a launcher for the standard defragmenter built into Windows 2000. The standard defragmenter does not support the ability to be scheduled, and therefore must be manually launched when required, once for each fixed disk in your system. AutoDeFrag works around this limitation and allows the Windows 2000 Task Scheduler to be used to schedule the defragmenter. By default, lunching AutoDefrag will defragment all drives, however you can specify in the command line, if you only want a selected drive defragmented. Very simple tool, but a great aid in maintaining performance.

Duper scans directories for identical files, allows you to easily locate and delete duplicates wasting hard disk space. Duper first scans all file sizes. If any two file sizes are identical, an MD5 sum is computed for each file and then used to determine if they are identical. After scanning, it allows you to browse through the duplicates found and select those you wish to delete.
